What kind of cuisine do we serve?

We serve meals cooked on-site with fresh products inspired by the cookbooks written by Charles Henry. The kitchen is French-inspired, colorful and sunny and takes a few influences of mediterranean and Asian cuisine.

Are pets allowed in the dining room ?

In respect to the other hosts we can not accept pets in the dining room but they are most welcomed elsewhere in the château.

Dress code

We will be sensitive if you don’t dine in shorts and flip flops !!!. but it is important that you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Smoking

The dining room as the entire interior of the château  is non smoking, there are ashtrays outside, on each side of the château.

Allergies

I have allergies, I'm a vegetarian, I have diatery needs, I don’t like fish, I don’t like meat . Can I have dinner at the château ?
We are aware that eating habits and customs of each other may vary. When you book dinner, you can specify your eating habits and we will adapt. Of course we will do our best to set a dinner that can please you.

Reservation

Do I have to book in advance for dinner?
We are not a restaurant but a « table d’hôtes » served at individual tables. We cook every night a different menu. We need to know at least 24 hours in advance if you wish to book dinner. If you haven’t book in advance and we can not keep you for dinner we will recommend you a restaurant nearby.

Do I have to dine at Saint Paterne?

No of course you are free to have or not have dinner at the chateau. But you will miss the opportunity for a candlelight dinner and a special experience. If you wish we can book a table in a restaurant nearby.

I just want one course or a small salad, can I dine at Saint Paterne?

It is difficult to provide just one course, our organization does not allow it. However we will be happy to recomend you  little restaurants never far from Saint Paterne for a light dinner.

I would like dinner around 7.00pm,  is it possible?

As a table d’hôtes, it is difficult to have different services . Our main effort is to  bring you all the freshness or  best cooked courses. We organize a drink from 8:00 to 8:30 p.m. and then dinner. Winter night falls earlier, aperitif starts at 7:30 p.m. and dinner around 8 :00 p.m.

Do  you serve lunch?

We don’t serve lunch but we have a room service menu with different dish in jars, tapenades, and dessert. You can have these food jars in your room or on the terrace .

Late dinner

We arrive after 8:30 p.m, can we still have dinner?
Yes you can have dinner until 9:30 p.m.. If you arrive later there is a room service with tapenades, typical french dish in jars, heated by us and brought to your room.

Are dinner served with everyone at the same  table?

We serve at small individual tables in the dining room, in the glow of silver candelabras. A romantic dinner for two, with a group of friends or family. Generally aperitif is served at 20:00 with all the guests, but nothing is imposed. 

Do you prepare dinner earlier for children?

We serve and encourage your children to have dinner earlier.

Adults dinner is sometimes too long for them, it takes about one and a half hour. We serve children’s dinner between 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. These meals are specially made for them. We organize a table d’hôtes  with the other children staying at the chateau if there are any. We offer  a nice glass of wine to all the parents, who are waiting patiently and lovingly that there child finish dinner !

I want to have dinner with my children at 8:30 pm?

Children are of course welcome to have dinner  with their parents in the dining room.  We can prepare for them a more suitable meal (Please tell us what they like, it makes it easier for us). We are certain that your children are angels and will be perfectly behaved at the table with the grownups!

I want to have diner with my children at 7.00 p.m., is it possible ?

Unfortunately we are not a restaurant, it is impossible in our organization to provide dinner  for you and you children before 8:30 p.m..

That is why we serve an earlier dinner for them. After children’s dinner, if you want we have baby monitor, DVD or  a babysitter (please book a little in advance). Then you can quietly, and have a romantic dinner ! 

What time starts and ends breakfast?

Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 11:00. It is a buffet with various pastries and breads, orange and apple juice, homemade applesauce and yogurt, cake with nuts, cheese, ham, local jams, teas, coffee, and cereals .... We also propose vegetable milk

Can we have breakfast in the room?

Yes of course, tell us at what time. We  will wake you up with the aroma of coffee and fresh bread !

I have to leave early, can we have an earlier breakfast?

Breakfast can be served earlier but not before 7:15 (the bakery does not open until 7:00!) Tell us the night before and we are ready to serve you breakfast on time.

I'm gluten free,  do you have gluten free bread?

Yes we do, let us know and we will prepare a basket of bread just for you.
